Since moving from area Victoria to the heart of Melbourne, Travalley has gone through several incarnations to become the distinct group they are today as a duo.
This stripped-down line-up allowed the band to focus on their signature sound of catchy hooks and pristine harmonies, locked in an upbeat euphony of driving drums and jangly guitars. While maintaining a live sound that can only be described as BIG.
Travalley recently released a new batch of music. “Our first yonks EP ‘HOME’ has finally arrived on all streaming platforms!
“Go listen to it and feel free to share your favorite song on your story and to your friends and family to help spread it.
“We’ve changed our sound a bit for these tracks, so we’re really looking forward to seeing what you guys think.”
Currently on tour, Travalley list some of their favorite Australian indie bands. “Because our EP is called ‘Home’, we decided to choose 5 local artists from all over Australia.”
1: Old Mervs (WA)
The WA Boys have absolutely smashed it right now playing sold out shows all over Australia and releasing track after track. Everything about them reminds me of Spacey Jane’s visit. Very exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to see them live.
2: Sophisticated Goofy (VIC)
From our first show together opening Pacific Avenue to a sold-out show at the Horsham Theatre, we’ve had so many fun concert experiences with the guys at Sophisticated Dingo.
They release tracks for what seems like once a month and each new song seems to outshine the previous one. Go see them live, you won’t regret it.
3: Harry Lamb (QLD)
Having grown up and played with Harry Lamb, he could be one of Australia’s unobtainable gems. He’s one of the few people we’ve heard cover Matt Corby and do him justice.
He’s performed all over Australia, built up a huge fan base and the craziest thing is that he hasn’t even released a single yet.
He’s backed Kim Churchill, Ziggy Alberts and Kyle Lionhart, so check him out on Instagram and tell him why he should release music. Australian music would be better with the music of Harry Lamb.
4: Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers (Canberra)
After meeting TJATJT through friends of friends at a party, we haven’t stopped crushing their tracks and following their progress which has exploded over the past few years.
Seeing how they return to play in their home town of Canberra gives us so much hope that successful bands still enjoy their local status.
5: Selfish Sons (QLD)
Where to start with Selfish Sounds. After meeting Finn at Splendor a few years ago, we talked about music. He told me he was playing in a band in Brisbane and they were just starting to play a few gigs in Australia.
Fast forward to now and they just backed Kid Laroi and Lil Wayne. These guys have absolutely exploded onto the scene and feel super special to have seen the growth from the start.
