Nominations Open for Philadelphia’s 25th Annual FirstGlance Independent Film Festival

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, February 04, 2022 –(PR.com)– FirstGlance Film Festival, Philadelphia’s independent film festival since 1996, announces a call for submissions exclusively on FilmFreeway for their 25th annual event scheduled for October 2022 at the ‘iconic Colonial Theater, 227 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Submissions open February 1, 2022.

To celebrate this milestone in the Festival’s history, FirstGlance is offering a $25 entry fee for the first 25 days of submissions in all categories.

Loved by filmmakers and cinephiles for over two decades, FirstGlance is open to filmmakers at all levels of their career from all over the world. Entries in all genres, especially horror, sci-fi, fantasy, drama and comedy in the following categories are accepted for submission:

(Local and international: live action and animation accepted in all categories)

Feature film (more than 45 min.)
Feature length documentary (more than 45 min.)
Short documentary (less than 45 min.)
Short film (less than 45 min.)
Animated short films (less than 30 min.)
Shorts too (less than 10 min.)
Student short films (less than 25 min.)
Music videos (less than 7 min.)
Web Series pilots (less than 15 min.)

Submissions are judged by industry professionals and FirstGlance alumni. Official Selections compete for awards in over 20 nomination categories, People’s Choice in each category, BEST OF FEST awards, and a Special Shot in Philly Category that welcomes submissions produced and shot in the Philadelphia and of Pennsylvania. The winners are announced during a live awards ceremony hosted by Raphael Sbarge on the closing night.

FirstGlance awards more than $25,000 in prizes and giveaways each year, plus $500 in cash prizes in categories that receive more than 100 entries.
