Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for playing characters perfectly on screen, has captured the hearts of audiences all over the world. The actor, after years of hard work and stardom in Bollywood, has been hired for an international project. He will play the main role in an American independent film named “Laxman Lopez”.
Directed by Roberto Girault and billed as a Christmas-themed film, filming will take place entirely in the United States. The film will be released on the parquet at the end of 2022.
Roberto Girault is a Mexican filmmaker, who gave hits like “La Leyenda Del Diamante” (2017), “Los Arboles Mueren de Pie” (2015) and “El Estudiante” (2009).
Writer and co-producer of the horror film “Little Darling”, Lalit Bhatnagar will produce the film.

Speaking to Variety, Nawazuddin explains the various reasons that made him say yes to the film immediately. “To begin with, the opportunity to work in a Christmas film is something very different and immediately caught my eye. The director, Roberto Girault, showed his power and mastery of the camera, and how he can unveiling new facets to an actor.” It’s a welcome challenge that I often aspire to. And most importantly, the name, Laxman Lopez, immediately made me curious,” the actor said.
Meanwhile, director Girault said, “I’m very excited about this collaboration. This storyline is close to my heart and the transition of the story and the challenges the main character faces will certainly intrigue everyone.”
Nawazuddin is currently in Cannes and on Tuesday the actor walked the red carpet as a member of the Indian delegation that went to represent India at the film festival. Other delegates accompanying him were actors R Madhavan and Kamal Haasan, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, music composer AR Rahman and others. The delegation was led by Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur.

Work-wise, the actor was last seen in Tiger Shroff with ‘Heropanti 2’ as the antagonist and has a series of films in his kitty like ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, ‘Bole Chudiyan’ and “Jogira Sara Ra Ra”.
