“I see these artists on stage and they have something that I don’t have” Oscilloscope Labs unveiled an official US trailer for Setter, an independent film about a podcaster who discovers and loses herself in a local music scene. This premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival last year, and it also made stops at the Hamburg and Thessaloniki Film Festivals. As Lennon Gates fuels her desire to step into a podcast featuring live music and conversations with the artists she so fervently admires, Lennon finds inspiration for her own musical ambitions…and a growing sense of misdirected identity. The sleek film is set around the underground music scene in Columbus, Ohio and follows Lennon as she is driven “down the path of a dark obsession”. Sylvie Mix stars like Lennon, with a small cast: bobbi kitten, Rachel Keefeand Jeff Grenell. They also organize aPoserfestconcert in Columbus, OH a week after it opened. This movie actually looks pretty awesome.

Wallflower Lennon longs to enter the inner sanctum of the underground music scene in Columbus, Ohio. When she creates a podcast to interview local artists she adores, Lennon discovers her own musical ambitions, develops a quick friendship with gripping and confident performer Bobbi Kitten, and in the process creates an identity that isn’t entirely hers. Soon, Lennon’s aspirations, along with some constructive cajoling from Bobbi to find her voice, lead her down the path of a dark obsession. Setter is co-directed by emerging filmmakers Noah Dixon & Ori Segev (a cinematographer), both making their directorial debuts after another short film before. The screenplay is written by Noah Dixon. It is produced by Drew Johnson, Joshua Nowak, Brett Reiter and Juli Sasaki. This originally premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival last year. Oscilloscope Labs will debut Setter in select U.S. theaters from June 3, 2022. Visit the movie website.
